Advice for removal of ticks

There is no need for a GP/Nurse appointment unless you are feeling unwell.

  • To remove the tick – grip the tick with fine-tipped or precision tweezers, and pull upwards without twisting.
  • Apply antiseptic afterwards

No antibiotics are needed, just keep an eye on the site for the next few weeks.

If a bullseye rash develops, or you become unwell with flu-like symptoms, make a GP appointment
